Personal Care

Promoting self-confidence, social interaction, and a sense of well-being.

What is personal care?

Personal care refers to those activities that an individual performs to maintain their personal hygiene, health and well-being. It involves assisting you or loved one with self-care tasks like bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting, as well as other activities such as managing medications, physical exercise and healthy eating. Personal care is important for maintaining and promoting good health and independence, particularly for those with disabilities, chronic illness or aging-related challenges that require support from caregivers.

The goal of personal care

The goal of personal care is to help people manage their physical, emotional and social health needs, enabling them to live a meaningful and fulfilling life. Personal care services are often provided by healthcare professionals, family members or volunteers, and can be delivered in a range of settings including homes, hospitals, long-term care facilities and community centers.
